Why 'QUALIFIED' matters
The highest standard
A qualified electronic signature (QES) represents the highest level of security and legal recognition in Europe & Worldwide.
Unlike simple or advanced electronic signatures, it is based on an identity verified by an approved certifying body and is created via a secure device.
It thus offers a legal value equivalent to that of a handwritten signature, guaranteeing the integrity of the document and the impossibility of denial (non-repudiation).
For businesses and public authorities, this means greater confidence, compliance with regulatory requirements (eIDAS), and optimum legal protection in the event of a dispute.

eIDAS compliant
Ensuring legal recognition and validity across all EU member states,, this compliance guarantees a high level of trust, security, and identity verification, essential for sensitive or high-value transactions.

FAQ
Wondering About Something?
General QES topics
A Qualified Electronic Signature is the highest standard of electronic signature in the EU and many other regions. It’s legally equivalent to a handwritten signature and backed by a digital certificate issued by a trusted provider.
Regular e-signatures (like clicking “I agree”) are easy and fast but don’t always meet strict legal requirements.
A Qualified Electronic Signature is verified through a trusted provider and linked to a digital certificate. It involves identity verification and meets the highest legal standards—especially in the EU under the eIDAS regulation.
Yes! In many countries, especially in the EU under eIDAS regulation, a QES holds the same legal weight as a handwritten signature. It can be used in court as strong proof of identity and intent.
QES is accepted for signing contracts, government forms, business deals, HR documents, and more—especially when legal compliance matters.
eIDAS interoperability means that electronic identification (eID) and trust services—like digital signatures and national eIDs—can be used and recognized across all EU countries.
From an e-signature perspective, eIDAS interoperability means that a Qualified Electronic Signature (QES) created in one EU country is legally recognized and accepted in all other EU member states. It ensures that digital signatures meet common EU standards, allowing cross-border business and legal transactions without additional validation.
Commercial
QES credits represent prepaid value that is used each time a Qualified Electronic Signature is performed. The number of credits required per signature depends on the method of signing used.
Each QES credit has a standard value of €0.10, but the more credits you purchase in advance, the lower the cost per credit.
QES credits are per nature not refundable, as that’s how prepaid services typically work.
No, you don’t have to.
An account will be created automatically when you place your first order, and your invoice will be sent to you by email.
For future orders, just log in with your details to make sure the credits are added to your existing account.
When you request a signature, a certain number of QES credits will be temporarily deducted from your account based on the number of signatures required and the signing methods allowed.
Once the signing process is complete, the exact number of credits used will be calculated, and any unused credits will be automatically returned to your account balance.
How-To
If you have several documents that are part of the same signature request, you can upload them and we’ll convert and merge them into a single pdf file to be signed. You’ll use the same amount of QES credits as if there was a single file to sign.
Yes, you can insert markers in your document to indicate where you want the visual signatures to appear.
Use #SIG01# for the first signature, #SIG02# for the second, and so on.
Note:
– You can place only one marker per signatory
– To make sure these markers don’t appear in the final document, simply change the font color to white.
– The visual signatures displayed in the document have no legal value, they are only meant to improve readability. The actual electronic signatures are digital certificates that form an integral part of the signed file.
Yes, it’s possible.
If you upload a single Acrobat file that already has one or more electronic signatures, we can add signatures while retaining the existing ones.
In this case, you will be asked to manually position the new signature(s) on the document.
Once the signature request has been sent, you can track the status of each signatory in your dashboard. When all signatures have been completed, everyone involved will receive the duly signed document in secure Acrobat format by email.
You can send a reminder at any time to signers who haven’t signed yet directly from your dashboard by clicking the “Remind” button.
Additionally, the system automatically sends reminders at regular intervals: by default every 7 days – this parameter can be adjusted within the signature request.
You can download a document that is currently being signed -with the signatures already completed- at any time by clicking on the title of your request in your dashboard.
If you wish to stop a signature request that is in progress, simply click on the “Stop” button. In this case, the partially signed document will be sent to each effective signatory.
In addition to the information included in the Acrobat Reader “Signature” menu, you can also submit the signed file to the European Commission’s online tool:
Digital Signature Services (DSS)
This will analyse the document and provide you with a simple and/or detailed report that you can then download.
